TransUnion, a leading global information and insights company, aimed to unite its international workforce through a comprehensive Town Hall meeting. The objective was to bridge the gap between in-person attendees in Leeds and remote participants worldwide, including senior leadership based in the USA.
To achieve this, Stream7 was entrusted with delivering a high-quality hybrid event that ensured seamless communication and engagement across all platforms. We managed everything from the AV setup in North^ Church to the live stream that connected in-person attendees and hundreds more joining on Zoom. Our role covered:
Global Connectivity: Facilitate real-time interaction between on-site attendees and remote participants across various time zones.
Interactive Engagement: Incorporate tools to enable live Q&A sessions and polling, fostering active participation.
High-Quality Broadcast: Ensure professional-grade audio and video streaming for both physical and virtual audiences.

For this conference-style Town Hall, we installed a multi-camera setup using broadcast-grade PTZ and operated cameras to capture multiple angles: wide stage shots, audience cutaways, and close-ups of individual speakers. This allowed us to switch dynamically between views throughout the broadcast, offering a polished visual experience for the online audience. Our Technical Director mixed these live using a professional vision mixer, while our audio engineer ensured speech clarity and sound balancing for both in-room and online participants.
All video feeds were recorded locally in high-resolution for internal archiving and future content repurposing. This is a critical part of Stream7’s approach to hybrid events – we ensure that valuable content is not just delivered live but can be used again to extend the reach of internal communications.
For resilience, we deployed a dual-encoder setup with a failover stream to ensure continuous delivery even in the event of local hardware failure. Internet connectivity was secured using a bonded 4G/5G backup router in addition to the venue’s dedicated fibre connection. Our in-house event broadcasting platform automatically monitored bitrates, sync issues, and playback performance to ensure global teams could join from different regions without disruption.
As hybrid conferences often involve key business updates, leadership messaging, and sensitive information, we integrated a secure streaming environment with access control. Participants authenticated via a branded Zoom environment, ensuring access could be managed while maintaining a familiar and user-friendly interface.
One of the most high-profile moments of the event involved live input from TransUnion’s global president, who joined from the United States. Remote speaker integration is one of the most complex aspects of hybrid events, especially when timing and audience engagement are critical. Our team scheduled multiple cross-time-zone rehearsals with the president’s team, optimised camera framing and lighting, and ensured that their connection would be as smooth as if they were on-site.
To maintain engagement and signal consistency, the remote speaker’s feed was integrated directly into our event broadcasting setup, allowing them to appear on large screens in the venue while simultaneously being streamed to the remote audience. Our production team also facilitated live Q&A between the remote speaker and both in-room and online attendees.
Interactivity is often overlooked in hybrid events, but at Stream7, we understand that engagement is the difference between passive viewing and active participation. We embedded Slido into the conference format, enabling attendees to submit questions in real time via their devices. Our moderation team worked alongside TransUnion’s internal comms leads to highlight key themes, spotlight employee concerns, and prioritise questions during leadership panels.
The platform also supported live polling, which was used to gauge sentiment around new business initiatives, HR changes, and cross-team feedback. With results displayed instantly on screen, participants could see their voices being heard - regardless of whether they were in the room or thousands of miles away.
Hybrid events aren’t just about streaming - they are about staging a cohesive experience for everyone, everywhere. To support the in-person conference experience, we supplied full AV production including PA systems, wireless presenter microphones, handheld Q&A mics, and on-screen visuals synced with the running order. Our onsite technical director managed cueing and transitions, allowing TransUnion’s presenters to focus on delivery without technical distractions.
Every element - from walk-on music to end slides - was timed and controlled centrally, ensuring the event had the smooth flow and high energy of a professionally produced broadcast.
