North Star Science School is one of South Yorkshire’s flagship STEM events, bringing together thousands of students to explore science, technology and future careers. With a full programme of keynote talks, interactive demonstrations and live presentations, the organisers needed a production partner who could support a high energy education event with reliable technical delivery and clear, engaging content capture.
They appointed Stream7 to deliver full event production, including sound, lighting and multi camera recording for on demand use.
The venue had to work for a diverse audience of school groups, teachers and speakers, with sessions running throughout the day. Our first priority was to create a technical environment that supported strong communication, consistent presentation quality and smooth transitions between sessions.
We installed a complete audio setup across the main event space, including microphones, PA systems and live sound operation. Our team worked throughout the day to manage levels, support presenters and ensure every announcement and talk was heard clearly by the large audience.
To enhance both the in room experience and the quality of the recordings, we delivered a lighting design suited to the stage layout and presentation styles. The setup ensured well lit presenters, clear visibility for students and consistent coverage for camera capture.
The organisers wanted the content to be accessible after the event so schools could revisit key moments and share the experience with students who were unable to attend. We filmed the full programmeof speakers on stage, capturing clean audio and multi angle video that was edited for on demand use. This extended the impact of the event beyond a single day and provided a valuable digital resource for teachers.
Throughout the event, our on site team handled all technical management, from rehearsals through to the final session. We coordinated closely with the event organisers, ensuring speakers were supported, sessions started on time and the technical environment remained stable despite a busy schedule and high audience numbers.
