About Project

A Brief with a Difference

When Accu, a precision engineering component supplier located in Huddersfield, got in touch about exhibiting at Smart Manufacturing Week, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham, they had an ambitious goal: to create a trade show stand that didn’t just look good – but offered an unmissable, hands-on experience that left visitors remembering their brand. They wanted to bring their engineering expertise to life through the AccuBots Arena – a live antweight robot battleground using components from their own product range.

The challenge was to turn that concept into something eye-catching, technically slick, and easy for their own team to run during the show. That’s where we came in.

Concept to Completion

From day one, this was a true collaboration. We worked closely with the Accu team to develop the stand design, advising on structure, flow, and how best to integrate live robot battles into the event space. We created detailed 3D renders and visuals throughout the design process to help them visualise exactly how the stand would look and feel – making decisions on everything from layout to lighting well in advance.

The result? A custom-built Tecna modular backdrop complete with a truss structure that supported a high-spec technical installation – and gave the whole stand a polished, professional look.

Solution

Technical Specification

The tech setup was key to making the stand not just functional, but engaging. We installed:

  • 6 moving lights and 30 fixed lights to bring energy and motion to the arena
  • 5 large-format TVs, integrated into the backdrop, and on the edges of the stand, to showcase branding, info, and live battle footage
  • 3 cameras, mounted on the side walls and roof of the arena, capturing every angle of the robot action
  • Custom animation sequences, created by our team, showcasing each robot before it entered the ring
  • A stream deck control system that allowed Accu’s team to easily trigger lighting and video cues themselves – keeping the experience slick and professional, without needing a technician on hand at all times
This technical design meant the team could fully control the showfloor experience – managing lights, intros, and screen content with the press of a button. We also programmed and tested everything in advance to ensure reliability during busy live demos.

"The stream deck system was a game-changer for our team. It let us trigger lighting, cameras and animations at the push of a button, delivering seamless, high-impact visuals without breaking our stride. It felt like having a full production suite in the palm of our hands." - Patrick Faulkner, Lead Engineer at Accu

On-Site Support

To make sure everything ran smoothly, we had one of our senior technicians on site throughout the event. Whether it was adjusting lighting cues, assisting with camera feeds, or troubleshooting, we were there to make sure the stand performed exactly as planned. This gave the Accu team complete confidence, freeing them up to focus on what they do best – talking to customers and showcasing their products.

Content Creation

Alongside the technical delivery, we also supported with content creation. As part of the build-up, we produced animated robot intro sequences and custom stand graphics – all designed to keep things on-brand and visually cohesive.

During the event itself, our content team captured behind-the-scenes footage and highlights from the arena, which we edited into a high-impact event recap video. This gave Accu a valuable asset to share on their social media and use for future marketing – extending the impact of the stand well beyond the exhibition hall.

Outcome

The WOW Factor!

The AccuBots Arena proved to be one of the most popular features at Smart Manufacturing Week, drawing visitors throughout the show with its interactive experience and striking visuals. For Accu, it wasn’t just about showing off their components – it was about creating something memorable that truly brought their brand to life.

Our combination of technical expertise, creative content, and end-to-end support helped make that possible. From the first render to the last robot battle, we were proud to partner with Accu to deliver something bold, engaging, and brilliantly engineered.

Stream7 went above and beyond. Their technical expertise, attention to detail and ability to adapt in real time meant the stand didn’t just meet expectations, it elevated the entire experience for our visitors and our team alike. Having attendees come up to us saying we had the coolest stand at the show was the real proof of concept.
