Atkinsons is a Sheffield department store that first opened in 1872. As a fellow Sheffield business Stream7 contacted Atkinsons to see how our Event Broadcasting services could help Atinksons reach a wider audience and boost their online presence.
This was perfect timing as Atkinsons were just about to launch their million pound sell off with a ‘breaking news’ theme.
This project was perfect for our LiveFrom studio, where we provide a complete TV studio to an event providing a location for interviews and product demonstrations to take place.
By utilising products from the shop floor we were able to create an exciting backdrop to the studio whilst also showcasing the wide range of products that can be purchased from the store.
We also complemented the live stream with our custom ‘news’ graphics, these helped reinforce the Atkinsons brand and also themed the broadcast.
Before the broadcast we filmed additional content around the store to focus on the deals available in the different departments of Atkinsons. These short films were then used as introductions to the different segments of the broadcast, our presenter then interviewed members of the Atkinsons team along with independent retailers whose products are sold through Atkinsons.
The broadcast was a first for Atkinsons and created a great buzz online. The hour long broadcast went live at noon to capture a lunchtime social media audience. Over 550 unique viewers watched the live broadcast with an estimated reach of 1,600. In addition 9,000 unique viewers watched the on demand recording post event.
This project shows how Event Broadcasting can create exciting marketing opportunities and enhance brand reach.
Stream7 created professional high quality video content for our Breaking News Event that drove customer engagement and reach. The guys at Stream7 were superb in their set up of the studio in store, and of the equipment. Fair to say that bringing in a 'news presenter' to talk people through our offers and history really paid off, adding authenticity and interest to our live stream.
From the technical to personal interactions with staff and customers we couldn't ask for any more.
