Stream7 was proud to support the recent Sheffield Music Hub Spring Gala Concert, providing event production, live streaming and filming services for an evening that celebrated the incredible musical talents of young people from across the city.
Held at the Octagon Centre in Sheffield, the annual gala brought together hundreds of performers from schools, ensembles and music groups from across the region. The event showcased the breadth of opportunities available through Sheffield Music Hub and highlighted the achievements of young musicians at every stage of their musical journey.
Working closely with the Sheffield Music Hub team, Stream7 delivered full technical production support for the concert, helping to create an engaging experience for both the audience in the room and those watching remotely. The event was live streamed to YouTube, enabling family members, friends and supporters who could not attend in person to enjoy the performances from the comfort of their own homes.
The live stream extended the reach of the event beyond the venue, ensuring more people could celebrate the achievements of Sheffield’s young musicians while also creating a lasting digital record of the performances.
Alongside the live broadcast, Stream7 captured professional video footage throughout the evening, providing valuable content that can be used by Sheffield Music Hub to celebrate the event and promote future opportunities for young people.
What made this project particularly special was the opportunity to support the development of young technical talent behind the scenes.
In the weeks leading up to the concert, Stream7 Managing Director Darren Wain worked with a student from a local school at the Sheffield Music Hub Studios, providing hands-on mentoring in lighting design and event production. Through a series of practical sessions, the student learned how professional lighting systems are programmed and operated, how lighting can enhance live performances, and how to create a lighting design that supports both performers and audiences.
The training culminated at the Spring Gala Concert itself, where the student took responsibility for operating the lighting throughout the live event at the Octagon Centre. Having developed their skills in a real-world environment at the Music Hub Studios, they were able to put their learning into practice in front of a large audience, gaining invaluable experience of working on a professional live production.
