Streaming Surgery

Why should hospitals stream live medical procedures?

We have seen a huge uptake in the amount of hospitals and equipment manufacturers who are calling on our services to stream their medical procedures. So how does this work?

Stream7 supply two teams of technicians, one team based in the operating theatre and another team based in the lecture theatre. The operating theatre team are responsible for capturing every detail of the procedure, this involves filming using Broadcast quality cameras and also recording feeds from medical imaging equipment such as Endoscopes and X-rays.

These feeds are then sent over a network to the team in the lecture theatre who show the images on a large screen to the delegates.

The high quality of the images that are sent, allow unprecedented views of the procedure for the delegates, which would not be possible due to space constraints and viewing positions in the operating theatre. Two-way communication allows the chairman or even the delegates to ask questions directly to the surgeon allowing for a truly interactive experience.

Procedures can also be recorded and streamed live.

Allowing delegates a surgeon's eye view is revolutionising teaching, allowing the knowledge of ground-breaking procedures and techniques to effectively communicated.
