At Stream7, we believe world-class event production should never come at the expense of the planet. From our Sheffield HQ powered by renewable biofuel, to the hybrid events we deliver worldwide, sustainability is woven into everything we do.
We know the events industry has a responsibility to reduce its carbon footprint, and we’re committed to leading the way with transparent action, measurable goals, and constant improvement.
Less travel. Lower emissions. Bigger reach.
Hybrid events are at the heart of what we do. In 2025, more than 80% of the events we delivered were hybrid, allowing audiences to join from anywhere without the need to travel. According to the UK’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, transport accounts for around 24% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions. By reducing the need for flights, long-distance train journeys and car travel, hybrid events can cut event-related emissions by up to 70%.
For our clients, this doesn’t just make environmental sense – it makes business sense. Hybrid formats increase accessibility, reach wider audiences, and extend event content long after the live broadcast has ended. A sustainable choice can also be the most strategic one.
A greener base for big ideas.
Stream7’s home is the Alison Business Centre in Sheffield – a site powered by renewable biofuel. That means the electricity running our office, edit suites, and kit storage is already lowering our carbon footprint before we even step on-site at your event.
Our location also helps us keep connected to public transport links, so our team can travel more sustainably.
Under 500 pages of A4 printed per year.
We’re proud to be a digital-first company. All project planning, documentation, and client communications are cloud-based. On average, we print fewer than 500 sheets of A4 each year across the entire business – the equivalent of just one ream of paper.
When printing is unavoidable, we use recycled paper and eco-certified inks. Our preference, though, is to keep everything digital – from scripts and schedules to signage and showflow documents.
Trains, buses and car shares before cars and planes.
Events can involve complex logistics, but we take every opportunity to keep travel low-carbon. Our team is encouraged to:
Travel by train or public transport whenever possible.
Car share when public transport isn’t viable.
Use video conferencing to reduce non-essential journeys.
Where we work with logistics partners, we choose suppliers with proven low-carbon practices. By 2027, we’ve committed to ensuring 100% of our logistics suppliers meet low-carbon standards.
Re-use, recycle, rethink.
Sustainable events aren’t just about how people get there – they’re about how they’re built. At Stream7 we:
Use energy-efficient equipment that is maintained to extend its lifecycle.
Reduce single-use items, favouring re-usable staging, cabling, and set elements.
Recycle 100% of cardboard, paper, plastics, and glass used in our office.
Source uniforms from recycled materials, recycling old uniforms responsibly.
Transition to recyclable and digital event badges, phasing out single-use PVC by 2026.
We also support clients in making greener choices – whether that’s encouraging digital delegate packs instead of printed programmes, or creating post-event highlight films to extend impact beyond the live day.
Facts worth knowing:
A single delegate travelling by plane to an international event can generate up to 250kg of CO₂ – the equivalent of driving a car for over 600 miles.
Switching from printed delegate packs to digital resources can save 10,000 sheets of paper at a 500-person event.
Re-using staging and AV kit can reduce event production waste by up to 85% compared to building bespoke one-off sets.
By choosing hybrid or virtual, organisers can lower emissions by up to 70% compared to fully in-person conferences.
It starts with our team.
Sustainability at Stream7 isn’t just a policy – it’s part of our culture. Every member of our team is trained in sustainable practices, both in the office and on-site. Staff are encouraged to bring new ideas for reducing impact, and sustainability goals are built into project planning and reviews.
Collaboration for a greener future.
We prioritise working with venues, agencies, and suppliers who share our commitment to the planet. This includes requesting environmental policies from our partners and aligning practices wherever possible. By collaborating, we can scale impact across the events ecosystem.
Clear goals. Measurable progress.
We don’t just talk about sustainability – we measure it. Here’s how we’re holding ourselves accountable:
2025 – Recyclable uniforms launched. Paper use capped at 500 sheets annually. Badges switched to recyclable/digital.
2026 – 80% of events hybrid. 10% reduction in office energy use. Carbon footprint reporting for all major projects.
2027 – 100% of logistics suppliers low-carbon. 75% of suppliers ISO 14001 certified. More renewable energy use at events.
2028 – Achieve B Corp certification. 90% reduction in single-use plastics. Entire vehicle fleet electric/hybrid.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but we’re just getting started. From capping our annual printing to fewer than 500 sheets, to delivering hybrid-first events, we’re proving that big-impact events don’t need a big environmental cost.
By 2028, our ambition is to be a B Corp-certified business – proof of our accountability not just to our clients, but to the communities and environments we work within.
Sustainability is a journey, and at Stream7, we’re committed to making every event part of the solution.
